Near Tai Po in the New Territories, there is a spacious old home which serves as a quiet respite from the often crowded living conditions and pressures of daily life in Hong Kong.
With assistance from the Foundation, the Hong Kong Family Welfare Society has renovated and restored the home, turning it into a family retreat centre known as the 'White House'.
Under the guidance of skilled social workers, families, couples and young people participate in a series of therapeutic programmes and activities. The focus is on helping people learn how to cope better with the stresses and strains of life and relationships.
