Multiple dollars for multiple scholars

Each year more than 300 students from tertiary institutions in Hong Kong benefit from Foundation-funded scholarships and bursaries.

Awards range from bursaries of a few thousand dollars to scholarships that enable recipients to spend one year of their degree course at an overseas university. Some awards are also linked to specific disciplines, such as the long-standing HSBC Social Work Scholarship and Bursary programmes at the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Annually, the Foundation pledges about HKD8 million in scholarships and bursaries to deserving Hong Kong students.

Application procedures

HSBC scholarships and bursaries are aimed at rewarding academic excellence of students already studying at tertiary institutions in Hong Kong.
