What we support
In mainland China, the Hongkong Bank Foundation prioritises charitable projects which enhance links between the Hong Kong SAR and mainland China. It also endeavours to foster home-grown help, mainly through the China Charity Federation and its regional members. Principal interests are special education, vocational training and community welfare.
What we like to fund
The Foundation prefers to fund:
- Projects in places where HSBC has a presence to enable staff involvement
- Nationwide training programmes that encourage exchanges between provinces and cities
- Not-for-profit projects that help the underprivileged in the community
- Projects that achieve synergies with programmes funded by the Foundation in the Hong Kong SAR
- Specific projects rather than general funds
- Directly
- One-off programmes rather than capital projects or ongoing recurrent expenditures
- Locally registered voluntary agencies/charities providing services in the Hong Kong SAR and/or the Mainland
What we do not do
The Foundation does not give priority to funding:
