What we support
In Hong Kong, the Hongkong Bank Foundation supports a broad range of projects across the community. However, its principal interests are education, environment, community welfare, and charitable projects enhancing links between the Hong Kong SAR and mainland China.
What we like to fund
The Foundation prefers to fund:
- Directly rather than through third parties or fund-raising events
- Specific projects rather than general funds
- One-off programmes or capital projects rather than ongoing recurrent expenditures
- Locally registered voluntary agencies/charities providing services in Hong Kong as well as the Mainland
What we do not do
The Foundation does not give priority to funding:
- Individuals other than through its own established scholarship programmes
- Book publication, film/drama production
- Conferences, seminars, symposiums, exhibitions
- Research studies, surveys, study tours, overseas trips
- General fund-raising activities
- Open-ended recurrent expenditure
- Projects or programmes already underway
- Reimbursements
