Since its establishment in 1981, the Hongkong Bank Foundation has contributed more than HKD1 billion to charitable causes in Hong Kong and mainland China. Financial support is provided to a wide but often related range of initiatives.
The Foundation's principal interests are education (including funding a scholarship programme, community welfare, environmental protection, and charitable projects enhancing links between the Hong Kong SAR and mainland China.
Through the District Community Programme, the Foundation also provides financial assistance for small and practical community projects in Hong Kong. The maximum donation for each project is HKD30,000.
To mark the 30th anniversary of the Foundation in 2011, a special additional HKD30 million is made available, targeting several high impact projects which are pioneering, innovative and sustainable. Click here for application details.
