'Green' home insurance
HSBC sets off to another milestone in the journey of going green by launching 'green' home insurance. A pioneering benefit feature is introduced to HomeSurance helping customers to save energy and live a greener lifestyle.
Customers will receive a free upgrade benefit: in the event of an accidental damage claim or lost on household appliances such as refrigerators, room coolers, washing machines, electric clothes dryers or electric storage water heaters, the "new for old" replacement will be upgraded to a model of similar specification but with an "energy saving label."
Without taking extra cost out of customers' pocket, this feature applies to all the new and existing HomeSurance policies with effect from 19 June 2009.
- Help save on electricity bills up to 50%: Appliances with "energy saving label" are proven to help reduce electricity consumption.
- Reduce carbon emissions up to 50%: Allow customers to contribute to fighting against climate change.
