Each year our Internships offer opportunities within a range of business areas, all designed to prepare high-calibre individuals for a high-level career in the financial industry.

You'll gain experience of the day-to-day operations of a global banking business, enjoying a wide variety of vital functional exposure by undertaking on-the-job training through a series of business team rotations. Taking part in high-level projects with the potential to make a real business impact, you'll have the opportunity to make a valuable hands-on contribution to the success of our business, as well as network with and benefit from the knowledge and experience of members of our senior management teams.

Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships with HSBC offer non-final year university students a strong base on which to build the skills needed for a long and successful career in the world of banking. This unique combination of practical experience and functional exposure has been designed to best inform you in deciding where your future career interests lie. Apprenticeships last eight weeks or longer depending on student availability and business preference, and offer opportunities within one of our variety of global businesses and functions, subject to business requirements.

You'll develop an inside understanding of your assigned business function, along with valuable insight into the workings of global financial markets. Developing on-the-job practical experience through performing a variety of important project-based work, you'll also provide administrative support as required, and more generally have the opportunity to make a real contribution to the success of your assigned team.

Work Experience

We're offering young people in Hong Kong the opportunity to get a head start on a career in the banking industry with HSBC Work Experience. Placements will provide four-to-eight weeks of early exposure to the workings of our business in Hong Kong that could play a vital role in preparing for a successful future career. Work Experience opportunities will be available within our variety of global businesses and functions, subject to business requirements.

You'll begin building a good understanding of the business world with HSBC, gaining an insight into a particular aspect of our Hong Kong business, as well as valuable exposure in the banking sector. Providing general business support to one of our function, you'll be able to apply the knowledge and skills gained from school to real business situations as you benefit from on-the-job learning and day-to-day interaction with experienced team members.
